I lied, the chooks aren't packing, Gardeningmama is. Tell Mrs.Oz to set an extra place at the dinner table. I just looked at your pics...paradise. Who on earth owns a water buffalo? Oh, that's right, people that live in PARADISE!!
sure, just bring a couple of dozen lavender orp eggs with you.

dinner will be chicken. breakfast will be eggs. may find some fish for lunch
 
I have free ranged my birds for the last 3 years during the warmer months. Had my first hawk attack last summer. All he got was a bunch of feathers. I attribute my bird's survival on plenty of hiding spaces throughout the property. Lots of shrubbery! Its the foxes that are my biggest problem every year. Think I'll go check out your thread Sally! On a lighter note, here's another lovely gift from the hubby from his trip. Coasters!

Oh Sally I am so sorry to hear that. I always taking loosing one of mine even the quit in the egg in the incubator. So hard.
 
they are so pretty. what did the parent birds look like. I have splash ameraucana rooster with my EEs Three which lay beautiful blue eggs the other vary for blue to olive to green to mint green. Love my mint green egg. My best olive egger F1s have not started laying yet this year. In am debating to put with dark egg layer marans or Splash Blue wheaten ameraucana Roo. Has other crossed this way?
