I know it's late, but I just went out to the game coop to collect eggs for tomorrow. They had dug a good foot deep hole under the roost and laid two eggs in it. Get this, one of the eggs didn't have a shell and I thought it was a snake egg at first, but then I remembered that they do that sometimes.

I should have taken a pic or something, but I'm tired and I just tossed it. My dad says he's never seen one still in tact like. I just thought it was cool.

We use this trick in hospitals to monitor drug refrigerators. The opening and closing - even quickly will show swings in the air temp but the temp in the mini water bottle barely moves. Opening your bator has a similar effect. If my Bator is not full, I add heat sinks - small bottles of water that will take on the temp of the bator and help stabilize it faster following me opening it for some reason.

Well, I tried the water bottles, and wouldn't you know it, my medical therm. isn't working!

I would like to join the hatch, I've got 26 eggs ready for the incubator...this will be my 1st time using my new Hova-Bator. My fingers are crossed that all goes well. I predict that 15,475 will be set for this 4th Annual Easter Hatch-a-Long. Good luck everyone!

Well, in some places now it's the 9th... in 12 hours it will be Noon on the East Coast.

Get ready, Get Set, SET!!!

Went out and collected eggs I missed while I was out. My lavender eggs start out grey and then turn darker lavender. Go tthe first lavender egg today. It's still light, but it's lavender!
