I've been wondering... How do you mark chicks so you know who came from which egg and subsequently who it's parents are? Do you have to take each chick out during the hatch?

1. put on tiny zip ties. Toes are soft and plyable the first day, so don't put it on too loosely. Because they might loose a tie I put two on.
2. You can also toe punch. THe flesh between the toes are punched or not punched making a numbering system.

I put hatching eggs in special containers to keep them separated. Once out of the egg, hard to know who came from which egg.

Ugh. This little guy is giving me problems is it a he or a she?!!! (White one)

Still a little young to be sure, but with the comb development, I'd also learn towards a roo.
