Can you explain the bottles, please? Are they to top the dish up with warm water?

This is a home made bator and I use light bulbs as a heating medium. I use water bottles full of plain water as a heat sink (as the water will hold the heat and not dissipate the heat to rapidly). This greatly reduces the cycling of the lights and helps maintain a more steady temperature for the incubation process. I posted pics of the bator in an earlier post on this thread (post#52).

Think I may have figured out how to adjust the incubators to make it possible to set some eggs for the hatchalong. May not be able to set many, but even a few would be fun. Now to figure out what kind of eggs to set!

I see way too many blank spots...................you seem to be shirking on setting!!!

I was just checking the calendar to make sure my two incubators full (80+) eggs will be out in time to set for the Easter hatch!

My wife would have my head on a platter if I set that many eggs.

Aww Jess! She obviously needs a lesson in chicken math.

First of all, shipped eggs, especially from an inexperienced shipper (one of the eggs was BROKEN, for heavens sake!) are totally unreliable, so they don't count.

These eggs are just to test the new bator to make sure it is functioning for the real hatch which is the Easter Hatch-a-long!

Besides, if any of these hatch out chicks, SOME are bound to be roosters and will not count either.

I'm thinking you really need to fill those empty spots!
