Correct, you will not see them wiggle as much in cartons.Yay for chickies!!! I'm hearing more chirping from mine now! Me thinks the movements are more subtle when eggs are standing in a carton. What a relief to hear some live ones in there!
I hatch in cartons and I did have one pip the wrong end once. I didn't know and it passed.ahhhhhhhh.....No cheeps in my bator and they are all standing up so hard to see wiggles. Grrrrrrrrrrr.........this is when the frustration sets in. lol Of course I set on the 9th so I know its ok...but you guys are teasing me! lol
Oh that brings up another point I was going to bring up earlier....I hope I don't jinx myself, but...I have never had a pip at the wrong end. Could this be because I incubate with them standing up? Kind of like saying that the chick would have to be standing on its head to pip the wrong end?

I started a day early so they are fairly close to on time. These are local and come from a very healthy flock too.Quote:You guys have me checking for pips every 10 minutes! I have tomyself away from the bator because I can't see all of the eggs!![]()

Your bator must have been running high on temp too.
