Please help! I finally had one of my 4 chicken eggs hatch and his navel looked like this. The incubator got up to 102 when I was gone for Easter & he zipped half way, but then was stuck for several hours so I had to give him a little help( I did not remove him from the egg). The navel was very sticky and bloodless so I tied it with floss and cut it(it was getting caught on his feet). It looks like second picture now. Do you think he'll be ok? Also, what should I do with the other eggs? They don't show any sighs of life and I set around 9:30pm on the 9th.
She HATCHED! But what's with her butt? section of https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/hatching-eggs-101

also scroll down for electrolytes recipes, etc.

well.... so far of my 5 that went into lock down... three have hatched...one didn't make it and one is still cheeping with no pip... if no external pip in the am I'll be helping so cross your fingers that isn't needed. the one that didn't make it looked like it might have piped into a blood vessel or something ... come on last little one.... get out of there!

I set 24 eggs and none of my eggs hatched. So sad... I cracked open 16 of them and there was no development. Really disappointing.

Has anyone had eggs set at the same time in the same incubator hatch at completely different times? 16/18 of my EE eggs have already hatched (started Friday. finished early this am), but only 1 of 10 of the Ameraucana eggs has hatched (early this am) and I am not seeing any more pips. I know that they were all growing before lockdown... Whats the deal??!!

It is Monday morning. I set on the 9th. I had one hatch Friday, 14 Sunday and just found another 2 piping ah hour ago. Thank heavens I did not toss them or worse yet do an egg-topsy!!

Of the eggs set at noon on the 9th, 1/7 hatched.

The shells were thick and didn't lose enough moisture. The others set with these eggs and hatched a few days earlier so I have to assume that was the problem. It was the only difference I can think of. Never will I add water to an incubator during incubation again. During the hatch only, from now on.

I have several pipping now that were set on the 11th, but am not sure if that counts.
