I'm in!!

I've got 2 silkie hens already laying and I've been begging my third and my buff laced polish to start... Hopefully I'll have lots of eggs to play with! And if my cochin and other polish would start back up that would be realllllly nice....
And the best part is that my 3 roos are 2 silkies and a sizzle, so i'll get lots of cute babies!

My family thinks I'm crazy.
Mine too. They keep asking how many chickens do you need, My answer is "As many as I want"

Ah yes, stipulations. I guess they need some sort of verification that eggs haven't been mishandled in any way. I was also concerned about this sort of thing, so I called ahead. No problem at all. It's a shame though, that you can raise a healthful product (even better than store bought) needed by the needy, but regulations get in the way. I understand the need for public food safety, but couldn't there be some way to prove you're not out to poison anybody? I dunno.

I want in too. I'm new in raising chicks -got 4 hens 1 rooster and last week my hens started laying eggs for the 1st time-I get 1-2 a day, but their not sitting on them. so we want to learn about hatching some ourselves.

Well, depending on where Carol08 lives. My hens (well, my silkie) goes broody in mid-February and doesn't stop until October! She'll set, raise a clutch, and when the chicks are a month or two old, she broods again! But I'm in Arizona, so it's warmer here than say, in Ohio or California.
