We've lost so many dairy farms here-- nice to know someone is still milking!!!! ANd I love the white Chanties-- they are on my fav list!!! Just don't have any yet. GOod luck hatching!!!

I posted on my hatching thread but just had to share here! I had two pip yesterday and were there at 5am this morning One of my Rouen Ducks is pipping now I hope it comes today and can be a Valentine duck! Other than those though no pips out of the other 23 eggs! However, I can't stay away and keep checking LOL I will get nothing accomplished today. Here is a pic of my two babies they are silkie/frizzle chicks!

They have alot of yellow on their faces and tips of wings and underside that you can't see in the pic! Hopefully will have a better pic later!

Oh I am in love!! DH told me I cannot hatch any more ducks( because I keep them all as pets!)

Happy Valentines day everyone!!!! I am setting eggs today because they will hopefully all hatch before we have to set eggs for the hatchalong. anyone else squeaking in one more bator full?


I am meeting a fellow over the mountain for lunch who is bringing me Dorking eggs on his way through the state. I lost my SG dorking roo a few months ago and have been wanting to get into reds and coloreds and a highly respected and influential dorking breeder is giving me 40 eggs out of his best two pens. I am so thrilled I cant stand it. but it's even better that it just happenned to coincide with the last day I could set eggs and still participate in the hatchalong!

and I have a brooder full of chicks from my own birds that just hatched out on Monday. today is a great day!!!!

I set 28 speckled sussex at midnight on the 12th/13th. My test run , first batch of the season!!

Holy cow!!! Now that's some poultry paradise! Me thinks that would be hard to top!

LOL yeah me too she said she's put 200,000 into cages and birds in 2 years (she only started 2 years ago) which is INSANE!!!

LOL this is my first set of ducks that I'm hatching we currently only have 3 Pekins that are pets right now. I have 6/8 Rouen eggs left in the bator and I'm thinking at least 5 are viable if not 6 (it might have been a late quitter) I'm sooooo excited LOL.

Isn't it silly how exciting such a simple thing as eggs can be? The rest of the world just doesn't know what they're missing out on. BTW I'm just as excited for those Barnie eggs as you are for the Dorkings!! Butterflies!
