I am using my Hovabator Genesis for the first time and am on day 13... I hatched twice before in the still air hovabator, and I am having a really hard time keeping the humidity stable in this one. The temps have been great!! I'm hatching at work, so I will be gone overnight and when I come back, my humidity will be at 12%, so I add water and it spikes up to 50%. I just can't seem to get it stable... Any suggestions?

Ohhhh boy. Fifty pages behind. I hope I haven't missed anything too important!

So, would an incubator do alright in a room that is cooler? I've read that you should keep them in a room that doesn't drop below 70 F (21.1 Celsius). After consulting with my mom, I've found, much to my chagrin, that the best place (and about the only place) I will be able to set up my still air is in my room, which hovers between 63 and 65 F. I'm much more comfortable in a cooler environment, and I have an arctic draft that comes in off my basement window, but I think what I'll have to do is cram a blanket into the window and see if I can't bring the heat up in my room. I would rather not endanger any eggs I'm going to be keeping in here.

The good thing about all this is that I can be sure none of the house pets are messing with the incubator while it's on. I fished a few unfertilized eggs out of the back of the fridge today to do a dummy test over the next couple of days..........wish me luck

Use small deep containers of water instead of the wells. Medicine jars that fit next to turner will work

Those babies are to cute now I am going to have to keep some of my chochin and silkie eggs to put in with my shipped eggs and I swore I would not hatch anymore but after seeing how cute I got to try

Do not use the water tanks. Find a little cup or something that gets the humidity to where you want it to be. I keep mine at 40%. With the correct container, you will get 2 or 3 days before you need to refill it. Wait until the humidity drops below 20%.

Lockdown is another story....
