I will be joining this hatchalong with Serama eggs from my own girls, and with the Duccle eggs I won in the NYE hatchalong!! Where/how do I get signed up?

I finally got my first olive egg in two months and was typing away, next thing I know my Pyr is enjoying the first egg.

I've incubated in my 60* basement . Wasn't with still air though.

I was thinking, if you had a really big cardboard box to put the incubator in, it would hold the heat that escapes from the bator and still have enough air for the eggs. The space around the bator would warm up and provide a buffer between the 99* temp and the 63* temp in the room. I know you would lose the heat when you opened the box, but it would take less time for the smaller space to heat up. Maybe? I saw a cabinet in a science lab that was a melamine cabinet with a light and plexiglass doors, I though, that would be a great place to put an incubator! First, you could lock it against malicious kids, and second, you could keep the air around the bator warmer. I don't know if the fluctuations when the door was open would do more harm than good, but in a cool room, it would take less time for the internal air to recover. Just a thought..........
