mine have never ventured more than a couple hundred feet from the coop. they are not mean in the least bit at all so I would say they are family oriented. They are free range birds.Do those breeds make good pets for families and do they stay close to home?
For those of you looking for temp/hygrometers you might Condsider this one.

They have them for less than $10 on Amazon. I have several of them all over the house and use them in my incubators. They match my brinsea spot check right on for temp. I guessI can't garauntee humidity accuracy, but if I use two they read the same. In any case I've had good hatches with them.
Oh come on!!!!!! It's not a hatch along without you!!! I'll send you some......It's a good thing I don't have any fertile eggs or I would end up pulling out my bators....
... and I already have TOO MANY CHICKENS!
