My SO tells me I have a problem,

I have a barn that is 8x12 ft or 96 sq ft total. We started out last year with 12 laying hens, 50+ meat birds, and 6 ducks. over the summer 2 of the laying hens went missing, one of the meat birds never grew and the ducks quacked. Te have 11 chickens and 6 ducks currently.

Earlier this year we decided to order 15 turkeys, 5sq ft each = 75 sq ft - they will fit in the barn right?

Then he bought me an incubator for my birthday!
Now we are hatching out potentially 28 ducks with this hatch-a-long = is that 84 sq ft (3sq ft each)
I'm also hatching potentially 12 chickens = 24 sq ft (2 sq ft each)

After this hatch I have another 24 chickens in mind to hatch = 48sq ft
and we are getting more meat birds this year (50) = 100sq ft

They all free range during the day on 5 acres, the SO thinks we are going to have a problem with barn space - I don't see it! do any of you? hehe

I just candled tonight and there is nothing developing for sure in 6 of 7. The seventh is an Olive Egg and I can't see very well into it, but will give it a few more days.

That stinks.

Good luck with your Olive Egg.

Well I have been so sick and then busy. Ugh. But I got a new incubator that hold 1300 eggs!! Ahhhh I am so addicted to hatching!

Wow!

Good Morning all... It's a cold, rainy day here in Central IL. Did a critter check before bed lastnight and one of my bunnies had babies

She had 7 little fatties. Got another doe due in a couple of days but she's pullin fur now (silly rabbit) so I'll have to put her box in early. New ducklings are doing well, eating and drinking everything in sight! I love Spring, ducklings, chicks and baby bunnies..... what better way to start Spring than with new life.

Congrats on your babies!

Depends on your turkeys I think :) I have a 20 X 40 barn with 70 odd chickens and 6 turkeys free rangeing right now. Last night my two toms were thrashing it out in the rafters and it was WAY to small for that action! Obviously spring is here. At least I got two turkey eggs though! When do we set for Cinco De Mayo?

Only problem is he isn't building barns fast enough.

Look at this little cutie I had hatch last night. My first duckling of the year, and I am in love with this little one.

Now if only momma and her friends would lay some more eggs I'd be really happy.
