2013 Easter Hatch-a-long "Create a Chicken Tiara & Crown" Contest
All hen tiara and rooster crown entries must be submitted no later than Midnight, PDT on April 1st.

This gives everyone a chance to harness creative juices after most of the Hatch-a-long participants have recovered from any family Easter festivities, after nearly every late, hatch-able chick has been released from its eggy prison, and there just might be some festive materials laying around to repurpose into designer masterpieces.

Sally, that image of those tiaras is so cool! May I borrow it to jazz up the entry rules on the tiara contest thread?

its from google have at it! Thank you!

I think you need to bring it to me and build me a barn while you are here.

Happy Chooks NO! He lives closer to me. He will come to my home, build a mini barn..and give me a mini goat! I think he has a few different kinds going on..and, while you are at it birdguy, you could bring me some of those fertile eggs..a doz. each of every kind that you have will do just fine thank you. :D

Maybe PM Pysankygirl? She pops on here from time to time. Bought my Barnie eggs from her.
Awesome! I am going to write her right now!
My Daughter that works for Michaels said they do not have there she said to to go DIY.com.

Looks like fun!
Thanks for checking! You'd think these places would have a crafty little tool like this!

I am no expert and have never seen these or know how they work but all but the top one looks home made. So I assume you put wax in the cavity heat it and it drips out the bottom.

I did find this hope it helps. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_make_a_kistka
Sweeet! If it comes down to it, I'll have to do this! Thanks!
I should save this for tomorrow....

Hahaha! Love it!!!!

Thank you for the update!

Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth helps to prevent mites. Mites live in the wood and mostly feed at night. Keeping the coop free of them is important. They hide in the cracks and then march out to feed. It is not a bad idea to spray with a miticide inside the coop when you clean it.

It might also help to get the Broody to use a plastic nest box. McMurray sells mite strips that will treat the coop. http://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/no_mite_strips.html

Oh my goodness ron! Soo getting some of these.

I have a chicky!!! Pictures tomorrow, I hope. It should be dried by then, right? My broody is so proud of herself. There's a second egg that looks like it will hatch in a few days, so........we'll see what happens. I am exhausted now, and I didn't even do anything but wait and wonder! It's a good thing this hatchalong doesn't have a "Highest Drama" contest. I think I might have won it

Thank you all for being patient with my worrying!

I need to understand a few things for late tomorrow nights contest......

Where do I find the random number generator online y'all used for the last hatchalong?

WHO was it that could find the posts so fast to quote the winning posters?
I would love to be able to find them that fast!

I won something last year and never did get it. :( It was supposed to be a Cook Book. Random post during that real fast thing we did to get to a certain number of posts.
