I was able to chip shell away completely around the shell where it started its pip, the chick is still stuck but able to move some now, the humidity and paper towel helped immensely. (Yay for lots of reading!) ...
Letting things be for now still in there with paper towel around it and upped temp .1 and added water, I just now checked and see he/she is able to wiggle even a little more than before!

And peeking in on the rest of the chicks I snapped a shot of this buff silkie baby that had fallen asleep while eating I'm guessing lol..! Looks like its just eating but nope was sound asleep.
(And yes the brooder was cleaned last night, although doesnt look that way!)

Everyone is into hatching gear!
I have pips and peeps! Good luck everyone!! The chicks are coming!!! The chicks are coming!!
Checked in on the hatcher this am, the LF eggs are starting, lots of cheeps coming from in there.

My "Iowacana" eggs all hatched but the one questionable one going into lockdown, so good hatch so far!

Had to help out one poor soul that pipped with a foot and knee poking out the hole and got stuck there. Roughed up the skin of his knee a little, but after I cracked him out of the egg (yolk and everything all nicely absorbed) he's doing pretty well, already on his feet and drying off.

Can't wait to see what all hatches today! Waiting on the Iowa Blues, Olive Eggers, Silver Sussex, Blue Ameraucana...

My EE chicks have a few that appear to have Jersey Giant dad..
I thought the That roo was seperated from EE hens sufficent length of time!!
What is the recommend time of withdrawl from breeding roo....?
my Araucana roo did his job on most of the group!!!!

Good morning everyone! What fun to wake up and read about everyone's pips and hatches....

I slept horribly last night... Not sure why, except that I kept dreaming about hatching and switching incubators and moving eggs to a hatcher and adding more eggs to the bator and.......

To make matters worse, my bator is at work, so it's not like I can just get up and take a peek... Maybe that's better... I probably would have gotten NO sleep!

I think I need to take a break from hatching.... Only problem is, I have 2 separate sets of chicken eggs in the bator plus 2 more eggs that will hopefully hatch today or tomorrow, one set of duck eggs in there with another to set tomorrow, and at least one more set of shipped eggs on the way!! Oh, and let's not forget that I am supposed to be getting turkey eggs sometime in April.... Oh boy.... I've got it bad.... Hatcher's Anonymous anyone???

I will join. Not that it will do any good. I am very stubborn!!!!! Plus these cute little cochin bantams are laying the cutest egg and chickies when hatched. then the cream legbars I bought. Plus the other hatch I have going. It is hopeless but I'll join

Anyone willing to put their hatch on webcam? I'm soooo jealous of everyone who's getting chicks!

Ok... I'm getting a tad nervous...has everyone who set at noon on the 9th got pips and or rocking? Cuz right now I don't have either yet...uuuggghhh...the wait is soooo hard! My grandson arrives this afternoon and I so want this hatch to be successful...

Don't be nervous yet. Some chicks hatch early, some right on time, and some chicks hatch late. All is perfectly normal. What you're seeing now are from people that set before the 9th, or are from chicks that are just hatching early. Most aren't due until tomorrow. Remember there were over 7000+ eggs set... and many of those have not started yet. The estimated "due date" is tomorrow... but can last well into Wednesday.

The wait is the hardest part, I know!
