Or you can hatch it & turn it loose when it's old enough. But I think you still need to let the wildlife people know you are doing it.
Well they could, but if they get caught they get jailtime and fines out the wahzoo

Any wild bird that has become accustomed to people is a danger to people and that bird it's self. We have two on our property, and let me tell you they hurt like crazy when they go into breeding season and chase you to flog you.

Are they ones you hatched or did they "adopt" you & now won't leave. I've never dealt with wild birds so not sure what they are like.

I appreciate that so much. Can't believe you took the time to send those out after all the damage at your place. Not to mention having been sick to boot. You are so sweet. Thank you so much Kim. You are awesome!

Did they get there? What condition are they in? I'm a nervous wreck lately about eggs being late.

One quick question. before this thread ends.
how do you count the percentage of any hatch.
# 1 all eggs set
# 2 all fertile eggs set
Is there a proper way to measure it.
Like your left hand is always the same hand no matter which way your facing.
Just curious
#1, divide number of eggs hatched by number of eggs set.

Quote: Yeah, I don't think that's legal. You could introduce disease back into the wild population for which they have no resistance.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Wolftracks aka Kim the Great! Despite being knocked down with a nasty cold/flu and THEN having your coops ripped apart by brutal windstorms you went above and beyond to get me the eggs that you donated for the Random Funny Posting Contest. Not only that, but LOADS of eggs. LOADS of GORGEOUS eggs. Black and Blue Copper Marans from the best lines, Blue Ameraucanas from equally amazing lines, and a whole batch of perfect little Bantam Blue Langshan eggs from great lines. The colors of the eggs are gorgeous!!!! Your packing is phenomenal and every egg arrived in perfect condition. You must own stock in bubble wrap.

We have had one for a few years, one just flew in and adopted us. The first one we got from a flea market. It was sold to us as an African Grey. These people catch them and sell them all the time like that. The fed's already have info on them, and are working to shut them down.

I'm glad you're happy with them. You post not only made me smile, but LOL ! I had wanted to donate those breeds, but I had a lot of orders and had a feeling that if I offered, they wouldn't lay, so I went with the Langshuns. Wish my Lavender AMs had been laying, but they're sissies in the wind and cold. Same with the Wellies. I think it was cheaper to add the eggs than more bubble wrap and buried bantam eggs, so you lucked out. LOL Actually I have a ton of that stuff, but I would have been disappointed with just those dinky eggs in that big box. LOL I hope you love the chicks you get as much as I love my birds. I had some really nice lines of eggs and so few hatched, that I concider these guys gold. haha I hope your hatch is better than some of mine have been. I've gotten lots of pms and emails and they like to hatch really well for others, so good luck and remember, I want to see pics later.

So did you have to go get permits & everything for the one from the flea market. I would assume you don't have to have 1 for a wild 1 that just won't leave though.
