I have 1 little blue or Lav Ameraucana, 2 BCMs, 9 Speckled Sussex (out of 12 eggs, 11 which were viable at lockdown)...for a total at his point of 12 chicks out of 26 eggs that were on day 21 today. I added 5 other eggs that hit day 18 today just a while ago, and saw the pip on the Birchen Maran egg not any larger, so I opened it up a little bit when I heard the chick peeping inside. it is resting now, and still peeping softly and hopefully will get the rest of the way out soon. They are all in the brooder now, to let this Birchen baby rest and hatch peacefully, hopefully.

for more chicks to pip soon....for all of us!

Okay here is chick #2 that I had to cornstarch it's umbilical area frantically. It's not dripping and the chick is acting totally fine. Is it okay in the bator or should I put it in something on it's own?

Okay is that a prolapsed vent??? Is that what it is? I see a white dot which isn't that usually a penis or something when you vent sex??

My neighbor up the road just gave us 8 eggs that should be fertilized. They range in color from light blue to olive green! Sooo excited! Will add them to my 30 I have for another lady wanting chicks! Sure love hatching all these babies!

Nothing from mine yet. day 21 doesnt start for me till 830 Saturday night though. no internal pips even. babies are moving though.

I have 4 hatched already. They were supposed to hatch on Easter. Silly chicks! Here they are:
