Nice hatch Karen! You will probably have to help with those legs on the one. Sounds like it was stuck in the shell too long. Straighten them out where they look right, and tape them.

I was thinking that is what I need to do, but with what? And I'm hoping that its okay, its legs where like wrapped around the head, that I actually after it wiggled its way out had to help it get its legs untangled. I waited for about 5 minutes and it was just screaming its head off. I will wait till it gets dry and tape its legs up, but I will need to go run to the store and buy whatever I need.

I just didn't know if I needed to put it in a cup or something to help it out.

A cup will help it until you get what you need. Do you have any band-aids on hand?

Number 20 just hatched.    Final standings: 20 out of 22 hatched.    I just candled the last 2.   Looks like one pipped internally and quit, and the other quit around day 18.    This has been a blast.   Congrats to everyone:)

Happy Easter,

Leslie

Oh jealous, you have Ecoglow..and I love that blue peeking out! I wanted a blue from this hatch, will have to wait and see if I get one that goes into lock down come Wed.

Okay, I have a OE chick that pipped yesterday night, and it was still only half way out around 7pm MST so 2 hours ago. Its head actually has been hanging out of the shell since 2pm today, so at 7pm, I decided to see if I could break some of the shell carefully to see if I could help it out since it only 1/2 way zipped and its head was already out of the shell. As I started to break, its leg was up around its neck and it looked like it was stuck, so I finished unzipping the egg, and just left it to come out on its own. It wiggled out about 10 minutes afterwards, hope that was okay to do, but the poor think is just rolling around the incubator, it can't seem to stand up. So I'm wondering with it being all knotted up and with its legs up around its head making it stuck its legs are not where it they should be or something. Any thoughts?

BTW, I have 29 Chicks out of 43. I have 8 still in the incubator, but no pips in them, but its 21 days today, so I will leave them. Not too bad for my 2nd hatch. 68% Hatch rate, not too bad.
Is it's head/neck tilted way up and back?

Yes, I have band aids, do I just use band aids, its not drying either. I feel so bad for it, its been out for 2 hours now and is still really, really wet. Its 99 in the incubator, I turned it up from 97 to help it out because it was shaking.

Here are some photos of the little fluffy's. And I don't know if most of those Ameruacana's are Wheatens, can someone please tell me. Most are Yellow, or Yellow with Blue chipmunk, they all came from heritage blue eggs. I just love their colors.
