The 5th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

When this Hatch-A-Long thread started I said the best thing about the Easter Hatch-A-Long is the spring it brings with it. We made it everyone, spring is here! It's bittersweet to see the Hatch-A-Long wind down. I love being able to log on and read up on everyone's day to day's. You all have been such a great group, chatty, and it's been really wonderful to see all of the new people joining in. These Hatch-A-Longs wouldn't be possible without the tireless commitment that a few people make in the beginning to see it through to the end. Happy Chooks, Sally, Mike, Nifty-Chicken & Ron THANK YOU for making this the best one so far! Oh, what a bar you have set for next years! Cynthia 12, it has been such a joy to see your colorful, welcoming post's everyday, and I earnestly hope you do get that BYC Greeter badge one day. You have earned it!​

I just had a late chick hatch 2 DAYS after the prior chick had hatched. Mike, please add one more to my total hatched count. DH said it was a strong bugger when he put it in the brooder. Funny thing is, it was an egg I thought was a quitter but left it in there.

I set 28 eggs, but only 8 made it to lockdown and they still havent hatched.

OMG!!!!!! There might be hope for some of the eggs to at least pip on timeish. I just candled and have massive draw down on 4/9 and 2 have shadows in the air cell! Not internal pips but backs as they adjust to position.

My chicken egg hatch that was due this weekend is done. I have 9 chicks out of 15 set. I still have my duck and guinea eggs going set the same weekend but due on the 28th. Not sure if my final total is to include those or not. They were included in my initial count for the number of eggs set.
