Good Friday morning!!!!

I have a question for someone that knows a bit about genetics...
What causes barring?
And what does barring look like in a juvenile?
I have GLW over RIR crosses (2 weeks old) and they look like the might become barred or partially barred. Would the gene from the lacing possibly be the cause of this. The primary flight wings are red with gold lacing but the secondaries compared to my pure GLWs are more striped/barred.
Not sure if this would be barring or just a coincidental pattern.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take the time to shoot us a message as to what you liked and didnt like, it helps us to have an updated new HAL for 2015 so WE NEED INPUT! We cant say we will use all suggestions but it certainly gives us a feel for what we should and shouldnt do again, or what needs changed!

PLEASE CHECK THE OP (original post on the 1st page of the thread to be sure your HAL hatched numbers are in! If you know someone on the list that didnt give them and run into them, send them over to finish up please!)

WHO LOVED THIS HAL? I DID! I DID!

They removed the trampoline from the picture! and added the country scenery.

It is very cool though.

I have 10 babies! Still waiting on a few, not sure about them, but the air sacs look not too bad on those. Little brown one..and one blue one.

What a cute picture, congrats!

I AGREE!!! thats awesome

I have yet to have a serama do that to me, we only have three really small ones that are straight feathered, we did loose one for no apparent reason as an adult this winter, but it was during that major cold weather and she was half molted and I think the heat lamp just wasnt enough for her or she was pushed out or tramped on :(

ach du gut!!!! you got them!! YAY!!!!

I am down to 4 quail eggs and 11 chicken eggs. I can't get this temps to stabilize they keep going up and down by 10 degrees. At least I haven't cooked them this time. I don't hold out high hopes for these though. No wiggling that I can feel. These are blue, olive and chocolate eggs so all I can tell is that they have good air cells. When this is done this water heater thermostat and the heating rod are going to become the emergency back up system. The main system is going to be the STC-1000 and a light bulb. My BIL (brother-in-law) trouble shot my STC after I shorted it out (YEAH

for a background in electronics!). I don't understand the magic he worked but he has it working again. No waiting 3 weeks for one to be sent from China!

I had 2 hatchings.
Here are my final results:

Backyard eggss:
14 set
14 into lockdown
12 hatched = 86%
none died after hatching

Shipped eggs (plus a few more from backyard):
22 set
19 into lockdown
14 hatched = 64%
none died after hatching
