The 5th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

So about 15 hours she has been at it. We helped her and she wasn't moist. Her feathers were stuck to the shell.... xD poor thing. Its either a silkie cochin or a mottled silkie.

My total HAL count is 4/40 10% .......all shipped..2/40 5% still alive the maran's caught something along with some silkies i had lost 5 chicks in 24 hrs...no idea what it was no visible problems runny poop,painting etc.. but I had taken them off of paper towels and just put on shavings at 1 week old, I wonder if they didn't eat the shavings and die from that.
The Good news is I had another hatch today 4 polish, i died shortly after hatching, 3 Maran I died half way out....

6 maran... 2 infertile , 1 late quitter, 3 hatched but, 1 died they heard the polish making a bunch of noise and joined In but the maran's could have used a couple more hours in the egg. they all had bloody umbilical cords and the one actually bled out. 1 is kind of mushy still in the hatcher

8 polish 2 quit early day 7-10, 4 hatched 1 died shortly after .
so I had 7/14 hatch 50% , 5/14 living after 12 hours.
