Happy Monday.

With daylight savings time change I woke up to pitch black. Time to get DD off to school and make some coffee.

Good morning everyone !! I hope everyone has a great day. I have more chicks hatching ! Hopefully I have better odds . My last week hatch of reds had 8 roo chicks out of 12 . Only 4 little girls. :/ Hopefully this hatch has a few more pullets.

Some of the Colloncas and other South American breeds can lay a lilac egg as well as the blue and green. Ask Grannychick55. She has one that lays lilac with yellow spots.

And I may be getting some of her eggs for this hatch-a-long.......I hope those hens come through.....

Catching up here - we were on a 20 mile hike yesterday. My legs are a wee bit sore! Holy multi-quote coming up. Great chicken pictures everyone!

This is the season when many hikers get "Springer Fever". The hikers I am writing about go to a mountain in north Georgia named "Springer" and begin a journey to a mountain in Maine named "Katahdin". Good luck to those who are beginning their "Thru-Hike" of the Appalachian Trail. They will be a bit sore also.

Well here I was...almost 2000 posts behind! And then....I discovered Ron's Daily Digest thread!!! YAY Ron, You rock!

I've got some partridge Orps going into lockdown this week, I had some temperature spikes of 104! with the Little Giant, but bought myself a BRINSEA for future hatches, I sure hope some make it. Next group is going under my faithful broody and best girl, 'Popcorn' who I have more faith in than a BRINSEA. Have an awesome day everyone!
