Me TOO!!!! @chicken picken... When the snow was too deep here I used a sled to move the fresh shavings and such into the coops and the nasty stuff to the garden. (thank you for yet another awesome tip, Sally Sunshine). Since we're posting the goat pics... here are some of my babies: The above pic is of our "Houdini" we simply could NOT keep her put...till we got the No climb fence, NOT one escape since....Woo Hoo!!! @SilkieSensation (I know, I know, there is no such thing as a 'goat proof fence'), but this is working for me, for now. YAY!!
Okay, so what kind of fence do you use? If I'm gonna do this, I want to do it right the first time. Lol
I have Nigerian Dwarfs and use a 4 foot no climb woven wire (not welded) fence. 5 foot would probably be necessary for standard sized goatees. Our plan was to run hot wire at the top and the bottom, but the fence alone has kept them in and an LGD (Great Pyr) has kept the predators out so far, so it's working for us without the wire.

I have some of these in my bator on day 12

I am so excited for them to hatch.

I'll be doing a staggered hatch of my Bantam Silver-Laced Wyandottes & one batch will fall on the set date - add me to the list, please!

I've got my hen in a dog crate now in the basement. She seems much better now.
She did prolapse, so I put on some rubber gloves and gently pushed it back in. Were having a terrible snowstorm, so I couldn't drive to get hemmroid cream. So glad we had plenty of KY in the house

I've used honey before when I didn't have Preparation H on hand (natural and supposed to help shrink the tissue so the vent gets back 'home'...not really sure about KY...

Thanks, I'll definitely try that if she relapses. Poor girl.
She's a great hen, she purrs when we pet her, and she's a fantastic layer. She's been a trooper throughout this whole thing.

I've got my between hatch of Reds going into lockdown tomorrow night. My breeds for the Easter HAL will be some leghorns, mixes, and Americaunas, hopefully.
