I'm in NH and have been rotating my eggs, waiting for better weather. Count me in, this sounds fun! I'll be hatching Delawares, Marans, EE, and a cross of NH and Delaware hens for sex links. If I'm lucky I might have some Cream Legbars to add to the mix.

Hmmmmm - I think I have a local source for some eggs, so I will try to give this a shot!
IT's A whoot!! Welcome!!

couldn't help myself lol. Im really excited because I just made arrangements to pick up some local Appenzeller Spitzhauben eggs in the next few days. These will be my first ever white egg layers. Who would have thought someone would get excited over white eggs with all the rainbow of egg colors out there but that's a chicken addict for ya lol.

I too am still waiting on my turkey hens to start laying. Im also joined the turkey hatch athon.
The white eggs in the basket was why I hatched out Barred Hollands for the New Years Hatch-A-Long. Funny how important having EVERY color can become!
Gotta have ALL the colors. I've been getting a few greys, and a new green this last week.

I'm officially an addict. Took some roos to the auction, came home with 13 Silver Cuckoo Marans chicks and a dozen RIR hatching eggs. I need a bigger brooder.....

Im in NH too. Its nice to see someone local to me. Where abouts are you located?

I wonder if perhaps you should put the probe into a little plastic container, like a salad dressing size or close to egg size of water or oil not sure what is best to use, I use water, and seal it with tape or something to get somewhat internal temp readings. just a suggestion as I am not sure how still air works, like I said I hate them and refuse to attempt it again.... I would install a fan in it for best results

I am going to convert my still airs to forced airs at least all except one that I will use for hatching. Just waiting on my fans to come is also have nother incubator coming that will be a forced air but it is not due to arrive until beginning of march currently on the hunt for a cabinet incubator that I can afford adventually I will find something I am sure but in the main time have to make due with my styro still airs lol.

Any thoughts of turning an old refrigerator into an incubator/hatcher? I have an old refrigerator and was thinking if putting it to use...?
