Just stopping in to say hi. Been a busy few weeks and I am 1309 posts behind.

I candled 57 eggs last night and took out 9 infertile and 1 with a bloodring. I left in 5 with ?, just wasn't sure. So, still have 47 possibilities. I also have 4 eggs in there that I rescued from my fired broody. They are still alive and their air pocket looks like it as about Day 14, but that's a guess. I am keeping careful watch, because if one starts to pip, I have to take out the turner, move the six extra eggs into my other bator (stack them on top), and let those four hatch.

What do you do when you have lots of chicks all at different ages?! Right now, I have one that's about a month old (he's becoming quite a pet - sits on my shoulder and sings when I play my saxophone

), 17 that hatched from my test hatch, then these four (or whatever hatches), and then whatever hatches for Easter. I have way overdone it with chicks this year, I think.

My White Leghorn egg has a blood ring, and here are the innards. It's a gonner along with the Brahma. My two Copper Marans are a little dark, but I have serious doubts about them both. Nevertheless, drum roll, please........ I HAVE TWO MOVING EMBRYOS IN MY COCHIN EGGS!!!!!!
I think this is likely due to two things: 1) Too much moisture concentrated too soon on one (perhaps the cooler) end of the wipeubator; 2) The wipeubator is warmer on one end-the end where the Cochin eggs are. #excited

Morning everyone!! Ehhh I guess it's good afternoon for me!

I have a confession I'm really proud of... I have not opened my bator since.... SATURDAY!!!!! WOO HOO! haha

My pyle leghorn made it! I did not need to assist this one, I had to leave for work early this morning but I've been checking in on a live webcam every so often.
*Also, a Marans hatched as well, so I've got two of seven as of right now.

If I use this incubator again I think I need more water at lockdown- the wells have run dry and I can't open it to put more water in.

None of the EE's have hatched yet that I can tell. Something to look forward to at the end of the day. Wow thanks everybody- I would not know what to do without you guys!
