I wonder if one can by exotic bird eggs, like those big parrots and such?  
HarmonyAnn asked for a bird for in the house and I think it would be fun to hatch one, and I am home and can care for one, I think it would be fun to try. 

Omgoodness parrots and other small birds are SO MUCH FUN to raise. My wife and I did it for years when we were younger. Just bare in mind baby parrots are not like chicken at all when it comes to feeding. They have to be fed every few hours all thru the night the first week or so beyond the fact that it's exhausting the bond you form with that bird is much like having a child.

Many people do not know this but most "pet store" (parakeets, lovebirds cockatiels) birds can be hand fed and taught to say at least a couple of words. One day soon when I am not so busy I plan to raise parrots again. I miss it!!

That is an egg with a chick in it! It is doing fine and what you are able to see is part of a vein.

It looks like that one will hatch fine for you.

OK I was wondering. I've candled a couple eggs Athos point and never saw anything like that.

In other news
The other duck on lockdown (remember I have Opps, a goose and another duck) is trying violently to make an external pip. I have a flashlight sitting against it in the hatchet so I can watch. I have no idea what the parents are so all I can say is the to of the bill looks yellow. And this baby didn't read the hatching 101 article. It's halfway up the air cell. And the goose internally pipped the middle of the air cell. Like the literal middle. Will I need to assist?

I got my meaties early as well the funniest thing is to see them run they waddle a lot..ours have an date set of april 26th..until then I have their pen in my 50x40 garden that will tilled up half of they are funny..I have their pen in there because they poop 4 times what a normal chicken does at least .

4 times the poop? Really?

For some reason, I never thought about that. But yes, yes, it does make sense.

Thank you! There is no way I can read all of the posts since I last popped on! Busy, busy! I haven't been on as much since my chicken bators aren't the only things incubating here right now! I'm expecting my second child and I have been very, very sick.

Pretty white eggs. Bigger than I thought they'd be. Darn cute.
