Someone local listed Blue Wheaton Ameraucana eggs late this afternoon on BYC. I just so happen to have read the listing on her footer, which I do not read all of the time..... so I bought them. DH is picking them up in the next day or two. I already have other eggs on order for the hatch a long. The new incubator is definitely going to have to happen. I had read people referring to chickens as an addiction. There are 12 step programs for additions. I think it is more of an obsession, which requires therapy and drugs.

At least with this one we get to eat what the addiction provides us!

I need those Meds!

Well, apparently I'm not normal.

Just had a discussion with my mom regarding my chickens. My son's cat went after one of my hen's today...Mama caught her in the act. I asked her if the hen was ok, she said yes...the cat didn't get any claws in her and made enough racket to spook kitty away. I made a comment about the cat (named Cinnamon) going on a little trip if she hurts one of my chickens. I love my chickens, even more so than my doelings (two Boer cross goats 9 months old). I don't know why, I just do.

She looked at me like I was nuts.

This is one of the many reasons why I love you guys here on this forum so much. Because we are all residents of the same nut house full of chicken lovers!!!

Chicken FEVER!

mimddh..my Golden's have been great after they got out of the puppy stage. Just had my Girl our there with my today. She loves chasing the ball. The chickens, just get out of her way when she runs past them to fetch.
My two others are also good. One of them is actually afraid of the chickens. Wondering if it would be ok if I posted a photo of when he is going..potty..and there are two chickens staring him down. So funny to see. He's trying to do his business, and here comes the EE every time..and one of the sex links..they just have to bug him. He finishes, and then runs to the door.
