Tonight is Chicks Night Out at my feedstore The Mill! Chicken fun every year. A brief seminar, door prizes, chicks and individual chick orders. I'm going to order 6 pullets of something...don't know what yet, but every one of them will be different. I'm so excited! Wish me luck with the door prizes!!!

I went to a poultry seminar once and I won a 25# bag of feed. DH won a prize also that same night, a premade nest box, we didnt need it at the time so we offered it to another couple.

Shes giving me the broody face. I noticed her watching me for a week now, and she was getting mad when i take her eggs. She wont risk loosing anymore. Shes building her clutch and wont get off the nest

Do me a favor please...when you go out to see her tonight tell her that there is an Australorp in California that needs to be reminded of the joys of motherhood. Plus there is a whole slew of other girls that have never given it a try that really ought to live up to their "Broody Breed" description.

Wish there was a feed store close that did this!!!

Oh my goodness, talk about past memories! We had a dog that looked like this when I was a teen. We loved him soo much. Hercules. He thought he was all that. I have a mentally handicapped sister that would walk just right down the block to go get penny candy and a pop..yep..penny candy..and this dog would go with her every time. He would not let one soul walk on that sidewalk while she was on her way or back. Waited for her at the door, then walked back with her, again, no one could come near her. If any of the rest of us walked down to the store and he was with us, he didn't pay any attention to anyone that walked by us. Smart dog. I still have a lock of his hair from his ear. He was a spaniel mix.
