My CCL eggs are on the way. :) Woot! I am looking forward to an autosexing breed for my laying flock. Always a sucker for those blue eggs in the basket.

I needed more eggs for the Easter Hatch. NEEDED, I say. :D

Of course you NEEDED them. I believe you.

No one should go with out CL in their flock, or at least some sort of BLUE egg layer.

I NEED MORE EGGS TOO!!! I need to get working on my cooler bator(thanks sallysunshine for the wonderful thread you started)

What's really sad is that I've got a perfectly good cabinet bator here that I don't even half fill. Just a shame, really.
*goes back to browsing the hatching egg thread*

I've got one lone ameraucana hen as my only non-Iowa Blue bird except for her chicks ("""Iowacanas"""). I love my IBs, but they are not a blue egg layer and I seriously love the blue eggs, so the CCLs my next round of blue egg layers.

Busy week and a half = 200 pages behind... hmmmm! :)

Just confirmed my eggs. The mix is RIR roosters over RIR, SLW, and BR hens. Thus I could get some pure RIR, some Black Sex Links, or RIW! Mystery boxes!!! I'm also getting some BOs.

I teared up as well. To see a hen who has never felt dirt before and to step so cautiously on it is heartbreaking. I wonder if there is a place to adopt ex-battery hens near me....what really hits me is I work in the dairy department a few days a week and stock the eggs. I think this video is going to be making an appearance in my thoughts for a while...

Too bad everyone can't just have a few happy backyard hens. All that cruelty could be avoided.

I know, I'm so glad that I don't have to contribute to grocery store buying of eggs. My girls lay nice enough eggs. Those chickens that were let go, probably ended up laying much nicer eggs.

Hi! I would like to join in the Easter Hatch-a-long! I will be setting 11 Rhode Island White eggs (shipped) and 22 barnyard mix eggs. I have RIR, Easter Egger, and Black Silkie Roo over RIR, RSL, White Leghorn, White Rock, Black and Blue Silkie, Black Jersey Giant, Black Orpinton, and Silkie/Jap hens.

This will only be my 3rd time using my incubator so I hope for improved results!
