Good morning, Everyone! Rise and shine . . .

Collect eggs . . . only three more days to set!

Love this! I wish one of my roosters would pour me coffee in the mornin lol

Im still collecting, but only collecting from 2 hens doesn't give me many eggs. My shipped eggs are due to arrive today.

Silkie..are they on their way??  :weee

Yep, sent 30+ eggs your way yesterday morning, the extras being a couple days worth of the blue/green eggs. ;) I'll have your tracking number for you this afternoon. I'm without a car at the moment so my mail lady picks up my boxes & money & brings back my receipt & tracking info next day.

I feel like setting for the hatch-a-long right now! Because I am excited, and really bored. :th

Tomorrow is -2 -3 days from set day so you can set eggs tomorrow Thursday! Just two more days!

Since I set turkeys for this & I like my tutors to hatch just ahead of them my chicken eggs will be going in Thurs. ;)

I was actually wondering, do any of us actually EAT eggs anymore?

I do... But they are store bought usually.  I usually... um... SET ALL THE EGGS!
I have put 3 dozen of my blue wheaten/wheaten Ameraucana eggs in the fridge.  I am about to put #4 in there.  It makes me sad I have no more incubator space.  I weep for those potential chickies.

:hit

My turkey poults from Meyer should be here tomorrow morning!

I haven't bought store eggs since my girls laid their firdt egg long ago. And I haven't bought chicken or turkey since I started processing my own birds last May. We cook up 12-18 eggs at a time once or twice a week just to use them up before they get over a week old because they won't fit in the bators...lol

I have a question about eggs color. I want to set mainly my BLRW eggs in a week, (ok.. i was going to wait but I am setting these for my dad...) I didnt seperate them from the rest of the flock and I am thinking if I do now.. that they would stop laying for a bit while they adjusted. So, anyone out there know the difference in black astrolorp, buff orp and wyanotte egg colors!? Some are pretty tan, some are brown and some are light and have an almost pinkish tint.

I want to set them all and keep the rest of the mutts for myself, but I am not quite ready for more chicks!! I was going to let a silkie sit on a few, but she seems to have stopped being broody...figures!

Two dozen hatching eggs being handed off today! All the others will be used for my hatch! Yay!

Folks at work and friends and family have asked if I had eggs to sell, I keep telling them soon - good thing they can out lay my incubator capacity.

I cant speak for all Wyandottes, but mine lay a very light creamy tanninsh pink color. If that makes sense.

When I run the hatch video I do not cheep at the eggs. I do not anyone to think I am not all there....oh too late I suppose.....

Greating from Aruba

Welcome! Do you have any pictures of Arubian Jungle Fowl?

Good Morning to all and off I go to work. Moved 68 eggs to hatchers last night, Dominiques, Silkies, RIR, and local mixed breeds that lay beautiful blue, olive, and dark brown eggs.

I expect to be setting eggs from my own flock, as well as some shipped Polish, Naked Neck, Speckled Sussex, and White Leghorn eggs, and if they arrive in time, some Swedish Flower Hen eggs - I have a neighbor who has been yearning for some SFH, so I thought I'd see if I can get some to hatch for her. I just hatched a couple of Polish and a NN from the seller who is sending me more eggs, and I confess, I always thought NN were singularly unattractive, but they make incredibly cute chicks, like something out of Dr. Seuss!
