tomorrow. They have been upright 24hrs in an egg carton

If you get that new one set up and going pretty quick tomorrow, like mlm said, you can wait a bit longer since they haven't been started yet. :) You're good. :)
Glad you can get that replaced! If for some reason, they can't..if they don't have one, then go ahead and set them with the others. Won't hurt a thing until you get another bator. In fact, if you are worried about them sitting out much longer, you can go ahead and set them now with the others, then when your other bator is set up and going good, put them in the new one. Just a thought. Probably what I would do.

Eggs

Don’t skip the yolk! They contain lutein, an antioxidant usually associated with sharp eyesight. But having lower levels of lutein in your brain is linked with mild cognitive impairment. Two eggs also provide 250 mg of choline, a good-for-your-noggin B vitamin that helps maintain brain-cell structure. Plus, their high-quality protein and fat can keep you full so you can focus on the task at hand. Worried about eggs’ cholesterol? People who ate seven per week didn’t have higher levels of heart disease or stroke, according to a 2012 meta-analysis published in BMJ.

@quailtrail Yes, this is what I would do. Let them sit, put them in either new working incubator tomorrow or the other incubator.

Count me in. I'll be incubating 7 hen eggs. Look forward to the hatch! Fran Walker

Hey all. I PM'ed Sally but she doesn't seem to be on right now so I'll ask here. I had a chick hatch while I was at work today (The small end pipper no less) and he still has a nickel size yolk attached. He's trying to run around and I'm worried sick he's going to rip it off. Should I isolate him in a cup in the brooder until it absorbs?

Va seems to be the leader in this, not necessarily a bad thing either! I think its important to monitor our flocks, especially AI. Its going to be a scary day when that bad stuff hits home and we are not prepared, but as with anything, States should work in tandem and they are a far cry from that. It is pretty useless with out any order and no order seen in the near future either.

long story short, went to atwoods 300 miles away from home.saw this Little chick being stomped in a 1.99$ tub asked to take it be for it dyed.got it and the other for company. Just adding too backyard mix.

300 miles!! omeeeegerddddd She needs a cool travel name!!!

Ok have the little guy in a bowl with a rag to keep him cozy. Didn't have room for it in the incubator so had to set him in the corner of the brooder. I managed to smear a little ointment around the naval area so now I guess it's a wait and see. Seems strong enough but still if that were to rip I imagine he would die of blood loss fast....on a happier note here's a pic of the babies in the brooder. Still have more hatching.

And then there's this little surprise...

Can't really see very well but this little guy seems to be a NN....A NN Silkie.

He came from a batch of Silkie eggs that of the 3 that have hatched so far he's the only one like this. I'm not really a fan but he's too adorable. Will def be staying around.

So my eggs came today after all. Looks like only 4 detached air cells. And sent extra of other breeds...cool!

Im almost 100 posts behind, I have some reading to do.

I was wondering for all you who ship and accept paypal as your payment method, do any of you request a signature when the package is delivered so it is confirmed you mailed it and they received it after you got your payment.

I have been shipping for a short time and recently started using paypal to recieve payment, but sometimes I get nervous that people might not be honest and say you took their money and they got no package in return. Any thoughts on this? Or am I just being paranoid? lol

There should be tracking, shouldn't there?
