Oh, I'm so sorry this is happening to you. It's unclear to me if she is offering to ship you an additional dozen eggs for free, or expects you to pay shipping and her material cost.

I was to pay shipping/mailing costs. I opted for a $5 refund instead of the 2+ dozen eggs. I told her that I could see we'd have the same shipping issues. I didn't say it was because she wouldn't reconsider her packing methods...

I think I had the temp a little high as the hatch was 2 days early. Im using a Still air LG. I read for still air temps should be 101 to 103 so I kept it at 102. No real temp spikes so don't think that was an issue. The humidity level was was around 40% during incubation. Then for lock down I raised it to 71% but 5 hatched the next day and 2 the following day and nothing for the next 4 days. Any ideas?
I've never used a still air, so hopefully others will give some advice. My understanding is you want the top of the eggs to be 102* or maybe 101*. I would consider incubating at 35% humidity, and for lockdown I would use 60 -65%. The two days early usually indicates a high temp. during incubation.

That's probably a good thing. It didn't seem like they were interested in changing their packing methods. You probably avoided another disappointment.

Ty For the advise. My plan was to keep it at 100 this time. As the humidity goes when I run it dry it stays around 30% if any one has any thoughts on my plan I'd like to hear them

Anybody up? I'm freaking out right now. I set my eggs tonight. After my incubator held a steady 99.5 all day, I put the eggs in and it dropped to 90. Stupid me I put them in at 9:45pm, and I've been trying to get the temp up after it only got up to 93 in two hours. How long does it take for the temp to adjust after putting eggs in?? I'm scared to go to bed and have the temp spike high while I'm sleeping. :(

Count us in. We will be putting 8 Easter Eggers, and 35 Australorp, Jersey Giant, Wyandottes,Polish, Hamburg, crosses. My Daughters are excited for our second hatching.

I never really paid attention to how long it takes to stabilize, but I don't think it normally takes more than a few hours. How many eggs did you set and were they at room temp when they were put in? If they were cold and you set a lot of them, it will take longer for them to reach the right temperature.
