Not fatal, if the thermometer is accurate.

I have to admit, I underestimated how long it could take to hand turn 92 eggs. I think I'll try to build a cabinet incubator for next year to have the room to auto-turn such large hatches.

It's like a full time job.

You are hand turning those??????

I thought that pic was just showing how many you were incubating but hadn't been loaded into the incubator yet! Wow!

I ran out of incubator space and had a moment of weakness thinking I could just stack and tilt the incubator - that was my justification for going ahead and setting them all. For science, you know. Not my brightest idea

Tonight I'll be able to reclaim the hatcher space and auto-turn 41 of the eggs in the incubator they are in now, so there is that. I don't have another auto-turner for the hatcher space so I'll still end up turning by hand a bit over half until lockdown unless I can find a cheap one at the farm store. But I think all they carried were some quail rails.

Lockdown never seemed so far away!

Hmm, I think when i counted that looked more like a shadow of the eggs around it. but i could be wrong. it would make sense for an egg to be there otherwise egg 63 has magical flying powers lol. the image gets grainy as you enlarge it so I think we won't know the answer until they are counted in person.
edit: which i just read they were. awesome lol

Good morning!!! Yet again I held my cell phone flash light up to 5 or 6 eggs this morning (I don't even touch them or move them)... ALL had little babies growing and veining!!! SO amazing to see!! I can't wait to candle this weekend!!!

Has anyone else peeked???

I have! Out of 60 eggs (57 plus 3 that were fractured that I tried to repair) only 8 don't have veining!!! And of those 8 are included the three I tried to repair, so I'm not counting those...which means only 5 eggs I can't see veining. Two of those five have spotted shells and I can't see crap in them, not even a dark shadow of a yolk, so they could very well be fertile, I just can't see!

If all of these hatch, I'm in trouble! My ecoglow only warms up 50 chicks!
