no problem. We weren't even intending on getting any yet. We just decided to price everything first until we saw them that low. We paid about 250 in timbers that would have cost close to 700Quote:
I'm jealous, mine are still showing at 3.97 each. Goldsboro, NC. I will keep a close watch on them though.
Found them at home depot for the sale price and they have them in stock WOOT WOOT. Count me in. Thank You for bringing it to my attention. Been planning to get some for a bit, might as well get them on sale.
The dog pack of 5 is down to a pack of 4. One is running around with a very sore behind. The person at animal protection told him that there is a good chance they won't come back because of negative response they experienced. I am hoping Colonel will have found his way back last night. He loves his ladies and hopefully the other young roo will follow. The problem is there are more than one pack of dogs running around. The rooster should work it's way home. The wild dogs need to be shot on sight. Particularly since they went after your husband.
Someone had to have been sitting on a few eggs. I have never owned ducks, but have been told they will start a clutch and leave them for a fairly long period of time the first few to several days until they have what they think is a full clutch, then start sitting full time - not unlike most birds when left to their own devices, so their eggs hatch close together.
Okay so my one batch of eggs wasn't supposed to hatch until Friday, but low and behold look what I found. Poor guy was stuck in the turners because the eggs were not supposed to even go into lockdown until tomorrow. Another of the ducks looks to be hatching so I went and locked down the bator tonight. I've heard of birds hatching early, but this is kind of ridiculous. It's just the ducks though. The turkeys and chicken don't appear to be pipping yet.

In CO, as in most states I think, if anything threatens/harasses livestock it can be shot. Last year a local dog took my only Blue Cochin hen, as she was protecting her chick. We now own a rifle and will use it if needed. DH is a good shot, hunted as a young person. I've never shot a gun in my life, but would not hesitate if it meant protecting my flock. The dog pack of 5 is down to a pack of 4. One is running around with a very sore behind. Is this 7 out of 7? If not, why chuck the rest if they are developing so far?I have 7 eggs with blood rings around themI think I might throw out the batch and start over![]()
