Okay lets all not get careless right now. This is baby season and predators are out big time...

AMEN to that! Lesson learned, and today I'm going to have Ray bury boards at the base of the fencing. I've been on him forever to do it. He's going to feel really bad when I tell him about Percy.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this weird egg? All the "specks" are the texture, not color.the left is the weird one, right is normal and smooth.

nothing is wrong..that is perfectly normal for some eggs..it is a deposit of calcium. If you start to see it on more than one egg it is time to change feed. Some feeds are so high in calcium it can get dangerous for the birds. Luckily they drop the excess on the shells...

check one, just make it just a tad bigger at the pip hole, like size of qtip and candle while you try to peer inside, if you can see just make a tad more bigger, NEVER open BELOW air cell line

oh no!!!!!!!!!!!

Duckies can take a full 3 days to hatch once they pip. If you are very concerned, take the egg & hold it to your ear. You should hear tapping, scratching or peeping if it's still alive. When you put the eggs back, mist the inside of the bator with a spray bottle of hot water to immediately restore humidity levels.

I have a couple babies growing out. I'm sure there is a male in the mix. I can either ship all 3 together in a week or so, or wait until they grow out some more & ship just 1. PM me if interested.

I ran a hot shower in the bathroom and took the bator in there to keep humidity up. I candled all 4 eggs and all 4 ducklings are still moving and doing fine. I looked inside of one pip just a little and everything looks ok.

Thanks for the advice. I new ducklings took longer but just wanted to be sure.

I just lost my first fancy feather girl... Im so devastated. I saw a pile of feathers on the ground and I lost it. My precious baby is gone, taken by a hawk. She was a good mom. Im going to miss her like crazy </3

^her and her daughter starburst.
best broody Ive ever had, best mother ive ever had! She raised such a wonderful girl!

Going to be putting my Egg in lockdown.
Same with all my Hens, they are going to be in the coop for a while. Ive lost my rooster and my head girl (again) She never comes back when there is an attack.

I'm so sorry. I just went through this just the other day. My smooth Cochin, just some feathers on the ground.

That alien foreign language was Chinese... :p
English and Chinese speaking cultures were the most dominant when Earth spread out so you see a lot of Chinese influence on other planets.. And it made it more appropriate for younger audiences to have the characters curse in Chinese. :)

Oh my gosh I feel terrible now! Haha it has been a few years since I watched it and I watch a ton of scifi I probably garbled a different show in there- now that you remind me I remember in fact that it was Chinese and that it was because they influenced the other cultures . Wow I feel embarrassed now , sorry to everyone who speaks Chinese

@ShelbyCoral
im sorry about you loosing your beautiful girl!

I lost my beautiful RIR rooster back in November by the giant hawk that lives in the trees nearby. he was a large bird and I couldn't imagine the struggle he went through to get free......
