My eyes hurt! lol...a lot of posts today. Everyone have fun getting those eggs set. Don't worry about the temps dropping at first, and don't worry about the humidity at first, low is ok, those eggs will raise it..and then, try and get some sleep.
Oh man, I forgot to put the X's and O's on the eggs when I put them into the cartons..that means I have to do that tonight. Oh well. Will give me a chance to look them over before putting them in. No candling before for me, I put them in and do a quick 24 hr. later peek. If I see that big orange dot floating around in a few, then I know I'm mostly good on that batch.

Good Night!

I would ask them what address was scanned at what time and immediately file a claim.
Sorry you are going through this. Hopefully they will pop up tomorrow, intact and ready to incubate. Despite USPS.
Best wishes.

I am so ready for bed! But I have a stubborn BCM who has been zipping for at least 90 minutes. And diagonally instead of around. Hopefully I won't have to help it. *Yawn.zzzzz*

Awesome sauce because my runner duck eggs are set to hatch for Easter but their in my friends bator because I might have overloaded my cabinet a bit so I'll be starting chicken eggs in the Hatcher and rotating them in next week when fertility check hatches start coming out.

Do you turn all those eggs? My goodness!!

Yes I do, it's a job in itself. Plus I have my other incubator full, just not as full as this one. I just flip them over carefully so I don't jar them. Just put them all in today so no turning till tomorrow or later. I'll be out of town till Sunday evening and don't trust my grown kids to do it the way I would. I figured especially this early on they will be just fine. I usually am a serial candler too but I think I'll just do sections at a time once a day to check to see what's still viable. SSHHHhh, hubby doesn't understand chicken math and has no idea I have this many eggs. He thinks I stopped at 3 dozen. Mwahahaha!

Absolutely!  A single chick will drive you crazy!

Duck eggs take a week longer to hatch than chicken eggs.

I know duck eggs take longer! my plan was to place the duck eggs tomorrow and then add chicken eggs after 7 days, but if I do that I can't be part of this contest! :)

Yep, sure does!

Well I candled and for day 9 they look right on track. I have 12 in there kicking and swimming! Does anyone find different sized air spaces?

Okay, really stupid question, but its been a year since I incubated, usually have a Silkie do it. Do I rotate on day 1? They will be in 24 hours tonight at midnight. Temp has held steady all day long? I couldn't remember if I should just leave them for 2 days, but I'm pretty sure that I rotated last time after the temp was steady

I start rotating as soon as they are in.
