SET ALL THE EGGS.

Right after this I dropped an EE egg, so I'm one short. The thread is moving too fast and I'm not sure if anyone answered my question about stacking eggs in a turner? Only a few. After that I'll post my numbers.
I haven't done it, but I have seen pictures, more than one in this thread alone (lol) that has had three or four on top of their eggs in the egg turner.

I was hoping maybe I would get my first pea egg but no luck here either.

I didn't get my first Pea egg until May first last year.

If I get any earlier than that I will be happy. So many people on the Pea Forum have been getting eggs it makes the anticipation worse having to wait.

I have a FI 4200 and I laid a water wiggler w/a meat thermometer probe inside it and laid that
right on the rack. I also used an aquarium thermometer with the cord and put that through the vent plug and hang it between eggs at their midsection to try to get the most accurate reading for the eggs.

The problem likely has to do with the meat thermometer. Check to see how accurate it is. if it says +\- 3degrees, the it can be off by a bunch. The other problem is the speed of detecting temp change.

It is better to get a thermometer that is made for incubation use.

I start with these: http://www.foyspigeonsupplies.com/p...elastic-rings-starter-kit-size-2mm-20-of-each. They are very sturdy and can be reused, plus the starter kit comes with a tool to put them on. After about two weeks, give or take, they are too small and need to be changed.

Next I move to the Narrow E-Z Clip bands and then on to the E-Z Clip bands in the different colors with numbers. (Same site) I keep them in several colors and sizes.

ETA - I need to remind anyone thinking of banding your chicks, especially those who are doing it for the first time, to be very vigilant to make sure the bands do not get too tight as they will cut off the circulation in the leg!
They seem pretty reliabe. Do you use start with the 3mm or 4.5mm?

Will my eggs be okay with 65% humidity the first couple of days? I want to set more today, but as of now I still have a few stragglers from my test hatch that need the higher humidity.

currently use the 4.5mm, but I am going to get some 7mm next time to see if they will stay on the newly hatched because they wouldn't need to be changed so soon. They will probably be too big.

Has anyone else used the E-Z elastic in the 7mm size?
