my goodness. I have a terrible headache right now, and im not allowed to take ibuprofen or alive until my surgery

not sure what to do...sleep may help...LOL

This might sound strange considering everyone else's replies, but a warm shower usually helps me. I'm not big on taking medications of any kind.

Taking about the candling i candled my duck eggs on day 4 and day 8 which was today but sometimes I like to take a sneak and look but I have to turn eggs anyway to no biggy

I rescued a silkie from abandonnent, she doesn't lay much or brood at all lol. She is just the alarm call. She's not too poofy either.

And isn't their skin supposed to be black? Mine literally has purple skin.

Purple, huh? Yeah, it is supposed to be black. Maybe the black gene got diluted by an interloper somewhere back in its line. I've seen a lot of pics of Silkies that didn't look like your typical Silkie in the chicken shows, though. Is it pretty with purple skin? I am glad you rescued it and that it serves as your alarm. Now YOU will have to serve as its guardian for life.

For the record, I added eggs to my other incubator today, bringing my updated total for the HAL to 40. Let's go chickies!! e

OK I think I posted the wrong place ? I hope this is right. I set 12 eggs in my new bator that my beautiful niece made me .hoping for 04-04-2015 !

It is reading at 93° & 31% humidity.

Well, I would up the temp then, just a bit. Let it go to 98, then go by the feel. With your wrist..does it feel like a baby bottle ready to be taken? If so, go a little higher, of course, if it's too hot, then go back lower. This is how I work my temps without those fancy thermometers. I get to know how the eggs feel in my hand as to where I want that thermometer to read. Right now, I have one bator at 100, the other is 99. The eggs feel the same to me warmth wise. This took a couple of yrs. to do, by feeling the eggs warmth. Just a thought, you can buy another thermometer to go beside the other one inside to see if it's off quite a bit side by side.

I set 6 eggs on Saturday March, 14th at about 10 a.m. 1 Jersey Giant, 2 Jersey Giant x Easter Egger cross, and 3 Jersey Giant x Welsummer cross. I'm excited to see all of them, but really interested to see the JG/ Welsummer cross the most. Good luck everyone!
