Incubator Wars!
Breaking news
Distressing news has reached us of a trauma with Contestant #3, Amber. During this morning's chicken chores, Amber was found frantically pacing and refusing to return to the nest. Upon closer inspection the nest was torn up and one of the eggs missing. The remaining eggs were scattered about and quite cold. They were rushed to Contestant #2's incubator for monitoring and closer inspection. Amber was allowed to range with the flock and scratch about to calm her nerves while the cause is searched for. We will bring you updates as more information becomes known.
Oh no, poor baby! Someone messed with her nest!! Find that culprit!!!

So.... Is USPS tracking ever wrong? Like could my little Hedemora eggs show up here in IA today as expected even tho' I just got an update saying they were recently scanned in Philadelphia???? Which would mean they've gone a whopping 180 miles since Saturday??? Seriously?? The update also still has the expected delivery date as today, in IA. Do they have a special transporter? If so, anyone know what molecular disassembly and reassembly does to viability and hatching rates?

I would bet it is correct. When they realized how far it was from where it was supposed to go, they just stuck it on the plane. Where were they sent from?

Philadelphia to IA is usually a truck ride and not a plane ride. So if they were Philapdelphia today, you should probably not expect them till tomorrow at least.

So sorry to hear about the hatching upsets!

I candled my one advanced egg I got a better light and can tell the difference looking. I took pictures but all the pictures are blurry.

I set the camera, my good expensive one, on a stable firm surface (I have no tripod yet) and took 15 pictures. Everyone was blurred.

How does everyone else get such good pictures?

that is what I would like to know

Quote: Oh... well they are probably still in PA. The USPS only uses the Expected Delivery Date to tease us. It means nothing to them. I shipped a package last Wed. to WI from KY. It was supposed to be there Friday, but didn't get there until yesterday. The tracking did not show delayed until Sunday, I believe.

They will probably take 2 more days if they scanned in Philly today. I'm sorry. I hope they are still good when you get them.
