Yes, air sac was okay. Was the air sac still intact on the other end? I've had wrong way pippers in my chicken eggs hatch completely on their own.

There you go!! lolI figure anything that made it through this past winter on my farm has got to be pretty hardy and therefore has earned the right to procreate!

Okay, but you probably didn't have a winter averaging in the teens, either. We have had them since the beginning of Feb. And I'm not kidding!!!!!
The aircell looks fine. Often chicks\ducks\etc. will pip into a vein or will pip before enough moisture is gone and drown or suffocate. You did the right thing by making a pip. Something else is happening though to make theme not turn up into the air cell. Did you use a cool down cycle and mist them? One way to make sure that the temperature was correct is to see if they hatched on the correct day of incubation. Flock nutrition might play a factor too since the little guy seems week.
This is an egg that was under a hen. I took it and the other one and put them in the RCOM. The other egg was quite big, and had a slightly odd shape to it, so I'm thinking that maybe they are from a maiden hen. Here are the two eggs side-by-side.The aircell looks fine.
