I'm in too. Hoping the guineas or turkeys will start laying in time...if not my frizzle cochins are laying like crazy, I can't believe they have not gone broody yet.

this is more along my price range for now. We are wanting to do hatching on a much larger scale but dont want to spend the money until we know what we are doing. I am addicted to hatching and very sad I don't have a broody main reason we are looking into incubatingI would spend a few extra bucks above the little giant and get http://www.amazon.com/G-Q-F-Manufacturing-1602N-Hova-Bator-Incubator/dp/B0050I4H6A $58 with free hipping

I have lost it in the thread the guy that would like hatching eggs from me! PM me if you are still interested!
thank so much for the info. I definitely a fan of research. I do a lot research before I commit and take the next step1. A decent hygrometer/thermometer and take the time to calibrate it - I have had good luck with this one http://www.amazon.com/AcuRite-00613A1-Indoor-Humidity-Monitor/dp/B0013BKDO8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1423974690&sr=8-1&keywords=acurite+thermometer
2. A decent LED flashlight - there are cheaper but this will even see through olive eggs - http://www.amazon.com/UltraFire-Flashlight-Camping-Ultrafire-Batteries/dp/B00FTUCMQQ/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1423974769&sr=8-11&keywords=led+flashlight
3 A gram scale (optional but recommended) http://www.amazon.com/Weigh-MS-500-BLK-Digital-Pocket-Scale/dp/B000P1NYE8/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1423974869&sr=8-14&keywords=gram+scale
4. Knowledge - read @Sally Sunshine
article - hatching 101
your pictures are very nice. I would like to make one similar to yours. I'm still looking for the old drink cooler / wine chiller though. I don't want to pay full price for one.
Is this the one you are thinking needs something special?

I think if you order it from them it comes ready for US outlets.
AS for the transformers, there are lots of options. Some are for plugging a US outlet into a different electrical outlet such as the ones found in Argentina. Others are for going the exact opposite direction.
Here is a link to a cheap transformer on Amazon. I think it is the kind you don't need for the incubator but would need for traveling outside the US.
