I watched a hawk fly away with one of my OEGB's and it broke my heart. I went outside about a half hour later and there she was hopping back from up the road. No feathers on one wing and most of her tail feathers were gone but no real injuries. I tried to bring her in and put her in the chicken hospital but she wouldn't have it. She went back outside about an hour later and acted completely normal. Her feathers grew back and she's fine now.
Aww, what a wonderful ending to that story!

Oh wow!! Now there's a miracle. Little fighter. Hopefully she gave that hawk a what for! That's my biggest concern for this coming spring/summer. There's a good chance I might have to cover the run. A good share of it is on the tree line, so I am hoping there is enough coverage from the trees, but we shall see.

I told my husband about it and he started laughing and then said how is that hawk still alive? It can't even kill a tiny bird! But I give my girl most of the credit she a little survivor.

Oh wow that is a crazy story with a happy ending! So glad your little survivor was a fighter and made her way back home.
