I regret I'm gonna have to withdrawal from this HAL. I will be going out of town and don't want to burden my bird sitters with very young chicks.
They are a large member of the weasel family. Some people who have witnessed them confuse them for a dark mountain lion. They are smaller, but sometimes when you get startled by something, the animal can appear to be huge! In my area, you only find these in deep, deep woods. They can indeed take down domestic cats- sadly we lost a few cats that way when I was a child. I live on a busy road now so the cats don't get to go outside at all- not for fear of fishers, but the highway. One of these bad boys took out 6 of my cats one year. (Barn/farm cats). Kept finding their furs laying in random places. Guess he just liked the meat.![]()
I haven't told my hubby I have eggs arriving yet.He WILL NOT be happy. He hates chickens. I finally got him to like a few last year but the fox took all them out so he's back to hating them again.
... maybe I should fix him a nice dinner before I tell him. Lol![]()
Nice! How many eggs does it hold?
Oh no, my rooster Dixon died. He never even got to see his first spring
