lol. Heres my so called "genius" plan:

Each slot would hold a different breed thats hatching.
What im not sure is if he heating element would melt he plastic or the air circulation wouldnt work...LOL

OR i could just sit by the bator all day and watch each egg hatch and ill band them right then and there...i mean i will be staying in bed with my foot all wrapped up anyways...right? HAHA

I had my pre-op appt. today as well. I think it went well now im just dreading the fact that im not allowed to go by the chickens for risk of infection. Im sure some remember when i cut my hand last may on glass and couldnt hold my easter chicks....i think thats why they werent so tame either.

Starting to get nervice my eggs haven arrived yet. No tracking info since th 9th. Still hoping they make it in time.

I have gotten one box today, right on time. The others that I won in a contest in the last HAL just left GA yesterday. He took them on the 10th, was told that they would be here by today..doesn't look like it will happen. I want to go ahead and set my other eggs tomorrow. Never sure about how old the eggs are when you get shipped eggs..usually folks are honest in saying they are fresh..I really trust this gal, had 7 out of 8 hatch, but I have had some others sitting for a couple of days from friends..one batch for three days. I know how long they have been gathering, so, in they go.

Now that the Guess How Many Eggs Will Be Set Contest is closed, we can start getting the actual number of eggs set.

When you are finished setting all of your eggs, please post in this thread how many total eggs you set within the +/- 2 days of the set dates for each type of fowl. If you did not set any eggs, please post that as well.

Recording these numbers is a HUGE job! Thanks @mlmddh . Lets make it easy on him!​

Hatch rates will be lower for eggs older than 2 weeks. Shipped eggs should not be older than 7 days because of the added stress from shipping.

Older eggs will still hatch--I would not set eggs older than 30 days and if I did I would watch them very closely for rotting.

Yeah, I filled my little incubator about two weeks ago but I don't have enough eggs to use my big incubator for this hatch-a-long. I was impatient.

Check in and say hi here and there.

I am out of town, but my daughter let me know that our three orders have made it to the house and are resting before they go in the incubator. We are setting SFH, OE, EE, and BCMS.
