I just wanted to point out that this is Red's BRAND NEW INCUBATOR! It took some persuasion from her Utah friends, haha, but doesn't it look so nice!?!?!

The other day, after I sold a couple chicks, my husband said to me "you know, thats not really your money. It has to go towards the chickens. Like food or a new incubator." lol. I'm like, yep, a new incubator it is! Now I'm saving up for a sportsman cabinet incubator lol. He didn't even argue! Last year, he was complaining about up having 17 chicks. This year, there are at least 60 chickens here total and I'm being encouraged haha!

My daughter just saw my log sheets... Two full ledger pages of weighed and numbered eggs... I don't think up until that point she had realized just how many eggs I have!

That is good to hear. I've ordered lavender Ameraucana eggs, and that's a breed I've wanted for a long, long time. I'll be thrilled if any hatch. They're traveling a long way.

Last year, every single salmon Faverolle I set in the TSC model hatched and did great. I think the other breeds maybe had fertility issues, the hens hated the rooster and often drop kicked him.
So, that TSC model does a very, very good job. You're in for many chicks

I had some hens that were men haters also. They were laying fairly well then I found them a man they didn't like him and slowed down in their laying. So I found them another then theyvstooped altogether. Got rid of him and the next one they still wouldn't lay. So I sold them heifers (hens).

What im not sure is if he heating element would melt he plastic or the air circulation wouldnt work...LOL

OR i could just sit by the bator all day and watch each egg hatch and ill band them right then and there...i mean i will be staying in bed with my foot all wrapped up anyways...right? HAHA

I had my pre-op appt. today as well. I think it went well now im just dreading the fact that im not allowed to go by the chickens for risk of infection. Im sure some remember when i cut my hand last may on glass and couldnt hold my easter chicks....i think thats why they werent so tame either.

I am hatching multiple breeds too burbi just figured I would divide them into plastic Dollar Store storage baskets...
