The 6th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

Good deal on the +/- I have a broody and poor girl was getting very I'll at me stealing her eggs and leaving golf balls. I felt bad and gave her eggs yesterday. I've been collecting my own eggs since Wednesday. I finally had to start turning down orders for eggs so I could have some. I'm going to a show tomorrow and getting eggs there so I'll load the incubator Sunday.

The first time I read your announcement I thought there was a link to a thread for counting the set eggs. Kind of like the links for the contest threads. I'm setting eggs tomorrow.
I set the 6 turkey eggs already.

And I know some might say it isn't really HAL news...but it did happen while picking up eggs for the HAL so I am posting about it here...

The eggs were already in the car but I wanted to see their parents so I went for a quick tour of the barn...I somehow came out with this...I think the magic spell of 'IT IS FREE' was cast over me...

My four year old is THRILLED...my husband...NOT so much...

But at least she is already earning her keep...

So at midnight tonight (Friday March 13th) Yahoo on Freaky Friday, I will be setting 48 eggs for my sister. I'm setting early because we are leaving on April 6th, and I want to make sure everyone is out by Saturday, Sunday the latest. Yikes, because if they hatch I have 48 babies to take on a 9 hour road trip... I haven't hatched since the last Easter Hatch Along, since my Broody's did the dirty work for me over the summer. Here is hoping I don't screw up the incubator.

OMG that is a lot of eggs.. yikes....

Yes! That's a lot of eggs! Where did you get all of those different breeds? I also have a lot of eggs, after friends brought over some! Didn't expect them all to come through. lol.

Loving those blues..what are they? And, do I see some splash in there..Oh yeah!

I set 24- Easter Eggs from which 5 were green the others were all blue...I also set 6 OEGB red Pyle/Black mixed and followed up with 38 barnyard mixes...some of which will be EE-EE others could be Silkie Crosses...this is my first hatch with these birds...

Now these EE colors sound like pretty eggs..good luck!! Silkie crosses..doing some of those too.
