Once I thought I had a quitter but when I was doing my eggtopsies I actually found I had cracked open a live viable growing baby.

I know i just posted how many gray peacock pheasant eggs i was setting, but dont worry i am setting more-so no way i will tip off the 'guess how many' contest.

i am posting here to state i am hatching for the Easter HAL, i will be setting mailed silkies and home grown d'uccle eggs tomorrow but have set my pheasant eggs a day early as their hatching times seem to vary, i could not find gray ones on a general pheasant list but i am told by the breeder 'around' 21 days.

i have farm yard mix covered by an F1 showgirl rooster if anyone near central TEXAS wants some for free- i dont have enough room to hatch out my mixes. I am in Nolanville but work in Temple. i may have 8 -12 by tomorrow

I'm still having a hard time figuring out how to determine if eggs are fertile. I think these are, but I'm not positive. Sorry I don't have better pictures than what I could take with my phone.

The OEs and Arkansas blues are mixed with other breeds so they are not pure. The White Bressse are pure:

So Ron, are you donating?

Well yesterday my incubator was sitting at the magical temperature of 99.5 all afternoon. I put the eggs in today and a few hours later, it was at 102.7. Turned it down, went to work, got home and it's at 92.7. I hope I haven't killed my eggs on day one. And I feel pretty dumb for having a spiffy new bator and not using it right. Does anyone have a hole I can hide in?

I had my incubator set up all week. I borrowed one (the one I'm taking about) and it took a while to get things stable. Well finally it was steady for a couple days. It's and older LG. I set my eggs being careful not to touch the thermostat, since many said a tiny bump could mess it up. WELL. The temp went all over, Mine hit 103 deg and spent all day watching and making adjustments. finally last night at 7pm it stabilized at 99.5. It may be slightly low for still air, but I'm afraid to make any more adjustments. Not sure how long you let yours run, but I believe some incubators are a pain. Don't get me started on my hygrometers. I calibrated them, however, I'm still not sure one is holding. I ordered a replacement and this crazy one is going back. Have to use it for now, Ugh! So, it's not you, some incubators make you crazy. My other incubator is great, no problems at all.
