I did a experiment, half my eggs washed half unwashed, 3 unwashed hatched 4 washed hatched! Everyone else was infertile...(out of 12 eggs total)

Ha, that's cool! I guess it wouldn't be such a big deal as long as your incubator was clean.

I got a farm inovators incubator, I may return it because i can't put my thermometers in. I use two, but they there is no where to put them, unless I can get a rack removed. What does everyone do for theirs?

im hitting the same problem...ive never set so many eggs in my FI before...I have 4 thermometers in mine. I just started stacking some on top off the eggs or putting them in the crack that's above the rotator motor

I lay my digital on the rack between the eggs and set my glass thermometer on top of the eggs.

I was turning my eggs and I dropped the dang thermometer, It cracked an egg...... It was developing.

I'm setting 26 eggs total.

It's a Farm Inovations 4200 and I put 2 extra digital thermoter in. One is indoor outdoor type that sends the temp to the display.

Here are my eggs thus far. At this point I don't know if I'll be hatching quail or not. My Cot hens are nearing the end of their laying and this is probably going to be my last chance to hatch from them.

Why do they have to have such a short lay cycle? At this point all the eggs will be just shy of 2 weeks old. Mom requested that I hatch them (no idea why) and I'll probably end up finding some way to order eggs if this doesn't work out. I don't like quail sometimes.

Is there a egg hatcher tracker out there? Sometimes I confuse around hatch dates, it'd be neat to go to an app like that and see its day 2 of something.

Is it true that if an air cell is detatched theres no chance of the chick developing? People on my instagram have all told me most of my serama eggs may be at loss

Is the turner similar to the little giant turner?

If so there is a screw or two near the motor that needs to be take out. Then the skinny yellow bars slide a bit and one removes the tiny metal pins and the egg rack row falls out. Then the screw need to go back. Also the one place next to the motor can get hot so in a still air you might consider not using that spot.

It has been over a year since I had one of those turners so I could be out of date on how to take out the racks.

wax it. use a lighter and gently melt a child's broken or undesirable color crayon on it. old holiday candles work well too.
