This is what's going on lockdown tomorrow...and a fun snack from today...

Just put my eggs in lock-down. I pulled 5 that were infertile, so I have 55 of the 60 still cooking.
2 of them aren't looking very well, one has a wonky air cell and the other looks like it may have quit. They don't stink so I will let them stay in the incubator.

Still
Yes, I'm glad these bars are for home use.  Some of them aren't pretty.  I'm in need of practice.

Well of course silly!  My welsummer male has to make his presence known.  And my Barnevelder males were probably calling back.

Yep, you gotta be able to see those fuzzy butts hatching.

Grower is fine.  I don't buy starter anymore, mine all get Flockraiser.

Congrats!  Welcome to the addiction joy of hatching!  Great job!

I'm so sorry.

If it wasn't moving, it likely wasn't alive.

:fl

Holy smokes they are too cute!  And you take wonderful pictures.

:woot

See......it takes a while.  You imagine trying to get out of an egg using only a tooth.  It's worth the wait!

Congrats!

If you were closer, I have a wonderful male (blue barnevelder) that is looking for a home.  He is a fantastic male, great with my kids, the flock, etc.  I just don't need him anymore for breeding.  I've been procrastinating getting rid of him because he is so sweet, I want to find him a good home.

I'm sure they will be fine as long as the power is back on now.  Remember, hens get off the nest too.
still no power. They estimate it back on by four in the morning. :(

Farmhand, Doubtful!

I have hatched several BCM and BCM/EE chicks and I cannot tell them apart. The first time and last time I mixed the hatch, I had mark each one as soon as it hatched. Now I incubate them separately.
