At what point do I give up on my last 4 eggs? This is just about day 23 here... I candled last night but really couldn't see much of anything... 1 is an EE and too opaque, 1 air cell was drawn down and the other 2 I could just see the air cells and darkness.
To be realistic, at this point the only one that has any chances is the one with a drawn down air cell. There is a float test which you can do as well:

Also, some of my Australorp hybrids have a white spot on their heads. Do any of yours have? If they do, can you follow them to see if they grow up to be males.

Anyone know where I can get a BCM hen around 1 year old in north-east arkansas??
In the following link there is a breeder in SE MO in Fredericktown.

so here is the final chicken hatch number....started with 120...10 didnt make it to lockdown...and hatched 88 out of 110....which is an 80 percent hatch...thats including the eggs that were shipped to me....so really a good turn out....already collecting to put another 60 in since the incubator is empty...and have the family saying no way...you have to stop...i said...whats the point of having an incubator then...hahaha...still cant believe there is 88...thats so cool...well hope everyones easter was great....i didnt see any bunnies but i sure seen alot of birds...
Yeah, I get that a lot.
I have 84 in there now with about 60 due in 10 days. I'm trying to figure out whether to put some more in a couple days from now or wait for the 60 to go in the hatcher.
I have to get busy and finish a couple buildings this week - and we're getting rain a few days.

So- by far my worst hatch ever lol. out of 31 I only had 8 go to lockdown and out of those 8 only 4 hatched. so my hatch total is 4. never had so many clears especially from my own eggs! maybe my boys are being picky or something. but I got another 30 in the incubator so hopefully I still get a bunch of button quail... or maybe only 4 will hatch again either way they are cute!

My 2 have a very vague silverish glaze on their heads not at all defined like my auto sexed BR/RIR boys. Are yours well defined spots?

Out of 6 3 hatched but I hear 1 still peeping
400

Out of the 4 we had go into lockdown, we had 3 hatch. Unfortunately one passed away over night and one has splay leg. He is hobbled now and healing, pictures to come soon!

I am worried about my BCM egg. It has been chirping for 24hours but no external pip. It is the only egg left to pip. 16 have hatched and two more piped. This is day 22. Do i need to help?

My BCM are lazy hatchers. Pip internally about the same time as everyone else, but generally are the last to pip externally. Then after the external pip, it is usually at least another 24 hours. I have had my BCM beaten out of the eggs by Orpingtons that went into the incubator three days later.
