Thanks! (Hope I didn't miss any other responses on this...)

I didn't see any, so that's why I did, lol... looks similar to some of my OEGB babies tho... I'm trying to remember which ones have the dark legs...

ETA: just looked on Cackle and it looks like their Ginger Red, maybe??

One of my SS chicks hatched out a bit puny. I have the sav-a-chick vitamins/electrolytes and probiotics in the water. Does this look neurological? It sleeps more than the others, and sometimes leans against other chicks. It's getting around ok, aside from the malfunctioning leg.

That's what I was thinking too. I just hope it's not a gold sebright, I am just not a fan of the breed at all. Too flighty, mean and I find the comb unattractive lol.

The wings seem to be gold laced though... :/

wow, that is rather fascinating. I was wondering what one could do to influence gender. I think some egg bearing creatures can determine gender by temperature (I am sure I learned that in school, but it's been a while since I was there and cannot remember what creature it was. I am thinking turtle or gator, something like that, but I am not certain)
so the eggs are gendered on creation... I guess that is from moment of chicken development in the egg then?
awesome bit of info, thank you! have an ovation for that (whatever it is, I am guessing it is good)
The ovation Button is right beside the quote button (green thumbs up)

Up to four little peeping fluff balls.
Have six more eggs that were still showing signs of life yesterday. I could hear peeps through two shells...how long should I wait for a pip from these guys?? I'm hoping to wake up to more!!

I read chicks can stay in the incubator up to 3 days after hatching. Does this sound right? I have eight chicks that are a bit older (5-10 days) and am a bit worried about the newbies going in with them. The last picture is the biggest of those older chicks for comparison.

I think they'd be fine. I mix my babies and haven't had any problems yet. What I do is put the new babies in a basket in the brooder for the first night then the next day I let them loose. I always supervise for a bit but do far everything's been fine. I actualy have a 3 week old raising my HAL babies right now lol.
